"Our Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus
Christ, and by the authority of the Melchizedek Priesthood that we hold, we
take this infant in our arms to give her a name and a blessing. The name by
which she will be known throughout her life, and on the records of the church,
is Kate Reynolds.
"Kate, at this time we also wish to give you
a blessing. We bless you in your life that you may be a force for good, that
you may always seek first the things of righteousness and be a strong member of
your family and a support to everyone around you. We bless you to continue to
grow strong and healthy. We bless your mind that you will have a strong
intellect and seek to always further your understanding of the things
pertaining to the eternities and also those things that pertain to more temporal
subjects. We bless you Kate that you may always strive to be an example to
those around you. You have such a sweet spirit and are so calming to those that
around you and we bless to always continue to have a good influence on others,
that you may find opportunities to help those that are less fortunate, and give
a hand up to those in need. We bless you to always stay close to our Heavenly
Father and know that he loves you and wants nothing but the best for you. Also know
that your parents are so grateful for you in our family. You have already
changed our lives and continue to do so. We bless you to be able to, one day,
meet a worthy young man and be married and sealed to him for all eternity and
to raise a family in righteousness. We bless you, Kate, that you may be happy
and find successes in life and learn from you mistakes and failures and always be
stronger because of them. We bless you with all of these things and any other
blessings that our Heavenly Father has in store for you. These things we do in the
name of Jesus Christ, Amen."
